MCKENZIE, SENIOR 09

With Christmas coming up, what is your favorite part of the Holiday Season?

This may sound corny but my favorite part of the Holiday Season is getting to see all my family and friends. There have been a quite a few laughs and embarrassing moments that well..would be better off forgotten, but without my family and friends these would be just mere memories. Its the ones you share it with that makes everything truly special.

What’s your favorite kind of milkshake, and where do you usually get it?

I’m actually lactose-intolerant, but if I got to pick it would be a chocolate and peanutbutter milkshake at one of the old-fashioned soda shops :)

The last movie you saw was… was it good or bad?

The last movie I saw was Eagle Eye and I thought it was pretty good. I love action films and this one definitely had a different twist to it.

What inspires you?

Nature usually inspires me. It is so beautiful and serene even in the biggest of storms, and it reminds us to stop for a second from our daily lives and experience all that life has to offer.

What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

Well not a whole lot… lol. Truthfully its because I have to be on time to school in order to do morning announcements everyday. But thinking about it more, each day is a chance for a new experience, a new friend, or new knowledge to be gained. I believe we should make the most out of everything we’re given and not everyone is given the gift of a new day, so make the most out of your fresh start.

What has been the best thing about your Senior Year so far?

I’d have to say the best thing about my Senior Year so far was beating Wenatchee by 4 points in our first swim meet of the season :) It was close the whole way through the meet and at the end the feeling was just overwhelming.

What values or rules do you live by?

I live by the morals my parents have taught me, the values of my faith, and my own personal convictions. I try to live by my standards and nobody elses.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

A lot of things actually. I am a mexiwegian( its mexican and norwegian), I’m allergic to wheat, I sing in my car to the people across from me in the intersection, I’m the “blondest” valedictorian that ever lived, I like to eat peanutbutter with a spoon, and I want to learn 5 different languages before I die.

If you could shop at any store, what would it be and what would you buy?

Its not exactly a store, but I love shopping at farmers’ markets especially in Ocean Beach, Cali. I usually by jewelry or fresh produce when I’m down there and I love it because I know my money isn’t going to some big corporation. A lot of the places even donate part of the proceeds to helping organizations, making my dollar go even further. Everything is original and unique that fits my taste.

Something I didn’t know yesterday, but I know today is….never try to

hiccup and breathe at the same time..its disastrous
